Originally priced at £177, Amazon has them priced at £85, having sliced £92 off the price tag. But you’ll need to move quickly as you only have 10 hours, at the time of writing, to get a pair of the headphones.

And if you’re an audiophile on a budget, you can do a lot worse than the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. When we reviewed them, we were suitably impressed by their build quality and design, as well as their versatility when it comes to the cables you can use with them; there are three cable options at three different lengths.

Having such options means you can use the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x on the go or as part of a desktop studio setup. There’s no wireless option, however, so if you have a phone without a 3.5mm headphone jack, you’ll need a dongle handy.

The sound they kick out is pretty solid as well. There’s a healthy amount of bass, and the way they reproduce sound makes them very suitable for mainstream music listening. Tracks with lots of vocals don’t do so well with some sibilance creeping into the sound.

But for under £100, there’s little to complain about with the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Thanks to their versatility and solid build quality, they offer excellent value for money at their original price; for £85 they are now stonkingly good value.
