Manfrotto Top Lock Quick Release adaptor now available
Photographers can now pick up a Manfrotto Top Lock Quick Release adaptor, with the company now having stock available to order following its official launch last month. It makes switching from free hand to tripod shooting when in a rush much easier, assuming you have a compatible tripod.
Designed specifically for Manfrotto's extensive range of ball-head tripod and monopod systems, the Top Lock Quick Release includes an aluminium plate designed to take permanent residence underneath your digital SLR and a locking plate that connects to the top of your tripod. It slots in and locks in place without needing to tighten any screws, and can detach just as easily using the red quick release button.
There's ample sideways movement if you need it, to save re-seating the tripod, or you can lock it in place for a completely still shot. Three spirit levels give you all the tools you'll need to take straight and level photographs.
The adaptor comes with a single mounting plate in the box for £84.95. Additional mounting plates can be bought separately should you use multiple camera bodies during a shoot; each plate will cost £25 direct from the Manfrotto website . Just be sure to check your tripod is compatible, as more entry-level products like the Pixi compact tripod won't work with the Top Lock.
