The toolbars provide quick access to functions most frequently used and are shortcuts to items in the menus. There are several toolbars (Drawing, Image, etc...) that can be displayed or not by going to the View menu then Toolbars and checking or unchecking the (click). A show you the ones you use most often, and make the others disappear (hide).
