ZTE Grand Memo II LTE, ZTE Open C Firefox phone ready for MWC debut
ZTE will be bringing at least two new smartphones to next week's Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. The company announced earlier today that the Grand Memo II LTE and Open C handsets would both be making an appearance at the Chinese manufacturer's booth.
According to the announcement posted to the company's official webpage , the Grand Memo II LTE will havea 6in screen and judging by its name will also include LTE support, although little else is known about the handset. It's predecessor, the Grand Memo , had a 5.7in, 720p display, so it's possible the new phone will see an upgrade to 1080p. ZTE will also be revealing the latest version of its Android custom user interface, known as MiFavor 2.3, at the show, so we'd expect it to appear here.
The ZTE Open C, meanwhile, will be a Firefox OS-powered entry-level handset. It will run the latest 1.3 version of Firefox OS and has been developed in partnership with Mozilla and Telefonica, but again other specifications are unknown. It appears to be a successor to the original ZTE Open , one of the first smartphones we saw running Firefox OS.
The original ZTE Open was incredibly orange - will the Open C follow suit?
The company will be bringing its Grand Watch Smart Watch wearable and a selection of recently unveiled smartphones, but there was no mention of a rumoured Tizen handset in the press release.
We'll be at MWC next week to bring you all the announcements and first impressions of as many new smartphones as we can get our hands on, so be sure to check back to find out more - about ZTE's two new models and the rest of the mobile world's new releases.
